"Reign" Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: 'Coronation' Recap, Francis and Mary Prepped for the Coronation Ceremony and a Look at What the Future Has in Store for the Royal Couple
If you missed the "Reign" episode on the CW channel last Thursday, Oct.16, then you may be wondering what happened, especially to the royal couple Francis (played by Toby Regbo) and May (played by Adelaide Kane). Reading this post will give you a brief recap of the events that took place in "Reign Season 2" episode 3.
In the latest aired episode of CW's drama series "Reign," viewers have seen Francis and Mary having to deal with so many problems, including the "black plague" that was making so many people sick. The disease is far from being their biggest concern: they are also in a severe situation after they have killed Lord Edward.
As the International Business Times cited, Mary is prepared to stand by what she did - which was to have Lord Edward thrown into a black plague victim-filled chamber. They knew that this will result in Lord Narcisse (played by Craig Parker) becoming extremely angered, seeing that no parent wish their children to be dead.
"Reign" Season 2 episode 3, titled "Coronation," had viewers privy the kind of preparations Queen Mother Catherine (played by Megan Follows) made for the coronation ceremony of Francis and Mary. But, as you may well be aware of by now, Catherine always has ulterior motives for everything that she does, and these extremely extravagant preparations are not an exception.
According to Observer, these ulterior motives were to make it appear that the realm was stable and that they need not to worry about financially-problematic times. Of course, this is far from the truth, seeing that the land is far from being stable. It is because of this that Francis and Mary have another task to perform - they need to come up with means to make certain that their people will not starve to death during, and after, the black plague and the famine.
In the synopsis of "Reign" Season 2 Episode 4 "The Lamb and the Slaughter," it was said that Lorde Conde, played by Sean Teale, and Bash will look into a case where "shepherd is attacked by shadowy riders." As cited by the same report, they will soon realize that "they may have angry spirits on their hands or potentially be at the beginning of a religious war."
