HTC Desire Series Unveiled, HTC Desire EYE "Selfie" Smartphone and HTC Desire 820 - Premium of Desire Series 2014, Specs, Features and Release Dates
HTC recently revealed their premium HTC Desire 820 phone, and their 'selfie' Desire EYE smartphone. HTC has already released several Desire devices this year but the 820 stands out among the Desire series of 2014.
The Desire EYE comes with a 5.2 inch display with a 424 ppi. It's powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, as in the one from Samsung's Galaxy S5. It runs on Android's KitKat software.
The "selfie" phone has a 13-megapixel camera for both the front and back. The front camera stands out in the sense that it comes in a rather big and vivid circular form. The front camera also comes with a dual LED flash, which is rare in the smartphone world. The phone also comes with a software called 'Eye Experience' which allows users to take "selfie" photos by simply saying "cheese" while holding the camera at front. The software will also allow users to take videos by saying "action". The software will also be available for HTC One phones as an update. The Desire EYE "selfie" phone definitely sells the nickname it comes with.
The Desire 820 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and a 64-bit multi-core CPU. It has a 5.5-inch HD screen, front-facing speakers, and an HTC BoomSound that introduces users with a totally new entertainment experience. It also comes with an 8-megapixel camera at the front, and a faster connectivity speed up to 150 mbps with Cat 4 4G. Desire 820's 64-bit processor allows users to easily download movies and videos, stream music, and play games online. The Desire 820 also supports the Dot View case, allowing users to access their devices without having to open the cover case.
As the HTC head Peter Chou puts it, "With the HTC Desire 820, we've combined the most advanced technology with the best possible entertainment experience, and bold, distinctive design, to deliver a handset that is both desirable and affordable".
HTC's Desire EYE will be available via AT&T later this year, while the Desire 820 will be available in China this October. The release dates for other countries are yet to be announced.
Prices for Desire EYE are yet to be announced, while the prices for the Desire 820 will be announced in November, as the phone will be officially released during the same month.
