Apple Pay's New Ad: A World Series Spot
Apple Pay's New Ad: A World Series Spot
Recently, MasterCard and Major League Baseball announced a partnership which has seen Apple Pay support roll out at the concession stands at the ballparks in Kansas City and San Francisco for the upcoming World Series. As part of the promotional push of World Series, MasterCard debuted a pair of TV ads during the Game 1, which features Apple Pay as well as the Priceless Surprises program that has seen cardholders surprised with the different rewards.
The new payment system is already live and Apple Pay has garnered more attention compared to the most mobile payment efforts made. Its new ad was aired recently and many are now excited with what it can offer.
According to Tech Crunch, the ad of MasterCard accompanies its rollout of contactless payments at various purchase points in MLB ballparks around the United States. The program also supports some powered mobile payment choices that are NFC based, yet MasterCard is pushing Apple Pay angle by bringing it to the field.
MasterCard said that the system of Apple Pay works well in purchase points at ballparks. However, it does not just end there as the company is offering an in-app purchase support for the latest payment system users for single-game tickets, which will be available this coming November through the official website of Major League Baseball.
George Brett, MLB Hall of Famer, is the first one who was featured on the ad and making a transaction through the use of Apple Pay. You have to keep in mind that this isn't an Apple ad. This just means that there are still other payment providers that will make ads while using Apple Pay.
MacRumors reported that Visa, American Express, and MasterCard have signed onto the program. Over 500 banks as well as several major retailers are included on the list. United States is the first country that will benefit from Apple Pay, which is now being accepted at approximately 200,000 POS. The banks and cards responsible for the majority of US credit card spending are compatible the service also. iMore also added that it will be much interesting to see several companies partnering on the Apple Pay in the months ahead.
