The smartphone platform has been heated up with latest releases where big names like Sony and Samsung rivals with two of their flagship smartphones Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5. Both the smartphones extends the plotlines where Samsung extends the S series and Sony updates the Z series with advanced technological innovations.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was released back in April, this year with a 5.1 inches display. The display quality is balanced with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution 432 pixel per inch density. The other device Sony Xperia Z2 was also released in April, 2014 with a display of 5.4 inches and 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The Sony Xperia has 424 pixel per inch density that just trails the Samsung S5 pixel density by slight margin.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 came with 16 MP primary camera sensor and its secondary camera is 2 MP. The smartphone is accused of poor performance in the low light environment. The other gadget Sony Xperia Z2 stands strongly presenting a primary camera of 20.7 MP with decent 2.2 MP selfie camera. Both the device requires autofocus, LED flash.

The Hardware specification of both the devices is much strong and quite similar. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset that comes with a Quad core 2.5 GHz Krait 400. The Sony Xperia Z2 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and it contains Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor. The GPU system of Samsung Galaxy S5 is ADRENO 330 and Sony Xperia Z2 also requires the same GPU system.

The internal storage of Xperia Z2 offers 16GB space whereas Galaxy S5 has two variants with 16/32GB space. Sony Xperia Z2 leads the RAM slot department with 3GB of RAM while Galaxy S5 trails with 2GB of RAM. Both the devices operates on Android version 4.4.2 KitKat and planned to be updated with Android version 5.0(Lollypop). The power management is better in Sony Xperia Z2 as it carries 3200mAh battery capacity while the Samsung Galaxy S5 is packed with 2800 mAh battery size.
