Sister Sandra Crouch Gives Update on Gospel Music Legend Andrae Crouch's Health

Sandra Crouch, sister of producer, songwriter and Gospel artist Andrae Crouch, has confirmed that Andrae was brought into the hospital on January 3 so that the medical team could address the health complications he has had been having.
Sandra Crouch writes: "On Saturday, January 3rd, my brother, Andrae' Crouch, was taken to the hospital so that medical staff could more directly address some serious health complications that had arisen. At this time, Andrae' is being attended to by a medical team, and we are so grateful for their wonderful care. We are also so grateful for the many thousands of people around the world who are praying for Andrae' right now. We ask for your continued prayer - that Andrae' will respond positively to the medical attention being given to him at this time, and that he will fully recover from this current health complication."
Andrae Crouch was a key figure in the Jesus Music movement of the 1960s and 1970s. As a result, he helped bridge the gap between black and white Christian music. Though sometimes criticized for diluting the Gospel message by using contemporary styles, his songs have become staples in churches all around the world and recorded by mainstream artists such as Elvis Presley and Paul Simon.
Crouch is also credited with revolutionizing the sound of urban Gospel music. He has been someone who help influence countless artists such as BeBe and CeCe Winans, the Clark Sisters and Israel Houghton. In 1996, Crouch's songs were the impetus for the Grammy Award-winning album, Tribute: The Songs of Andraé Crouch (released on Warner Bros. Records), which featured a range of artists performing some of his classic songs including the Michael W. Smith and Take 6.
