Owl City's Adam Young Hints that a New Album May Come in 2016

Adam Young, the singer-songwriter, who goes by Owl City, has had a great year this year. His fifth studio album, Mobile Orchestra, debut at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and it has received rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
Here's part of our review: You don't have to be a prophet or the son of a prophet to know that Owl City's "Mobile Orchestra" is going to be one of the most talked about album this year. It's going to cause chatter among critics who have once slammed Owl City's sound as being derivative, a watered-down Postal Service rip-off. With "Mobile Orchestra," Young finds his true sound. Instead of riding on the curtails of the fuzzy synth riffs of indielectronica, here Owl City is not afraid to mesh country music, CCM and pop-induced rock into their new career-defining sound."
Ken Capobianco of The Boston Globe commented on the album positively saying, "Six years after the commercial breakthrough "Fireflies," Owl City's Adam Young has virtually mastered his poppy electronica-lite formula, and aims straight for the mainstream with this earnest, eager-to-please new work. These carefully manicured, melodic songs are much too transparent and lightweight, though, to leave much of an impression."
In a recent newletter sent to fans, Adam Young not only expresses his thanks for the success of Mobile Orchestra, but he also hints that a new project may be coming in 2016. "Admittedly, I've been quiet on social media for a few weeks because I've stumbled upon an idea which has all but consumed my creative heart-and-soul and I am tremendously excited about it."
He continues, "I cannot give many details right now, but I'm hatching a plot that involves doing something different than anything I've ever done, and yet is something I've always dreamed of doing. It is separate from Owl City and involves music but that's about all I can say."
"My team and I are working on a project that will launch February 1st of 2016, with news coming January 1st, and I think you will be amazed. For years, I've wanted to do something I've either not had the time nor energy to focus on - but at long last, the time has come,"
