Marie Osmond Releases Her Inspirational Country Album "Music is Medicine"

Marie Osmond has released her first country album Music is Medicine since 1989's Stepping Stones. The album is a testimony of how Osmond overcame her depression and her own personal issues with God's help through music.
In an interview with DigitalJournal, Osmond said, "I'm a little bit country, so my new album is definitely country. It has been a while since I did a country solo album. I really wasn't planning on recording again, and things just aligned. Music is medicine and it has gotten me through some really tough things in life. It has been medicine through my life. I sing multiple genres. In Vegas, I sing jazz, opera, Broadway and I do 'Nessun Dorma' right now in my show."
Each day, Osmond is motivated by "her love of life." "There was a period of time where I went through a very dark depression and I wrote books about my life, but the thing that got me through it is just being honest. I believe that women should complete each other and not compete with each other. I have always been a celebrity that cared a great deal about the female heart and what we all go through. God doesn't care who we are. He cares what we are," she said.
Osmond concluded the interview by defining the word success. "My mother said 'just remember, you know that you will be successful when you can honestly say that you are a very happy grandma.' That means that your children love you and that you have put family first, and that your grand-babies love you, and I am a very happy grandma," she said, with a sweet smile.
Music Is Medicine marks her latest and perhaps most important studio release. Enlisting the expertise of veteran Country/Pop/Latin producer Jason Deere, Marie captures her expected contemporary style, mixing it with new flavors and notable guest artists such as Olivia Newton-John, Diamond Rio, SisQó (Dru Hill), John Rich (Big & Rich), Marty Roe, and Alex Boyé. This canvas of musical colors, vocal power and lyrical depth encompasses a lifetime of experience, music, love, loss, hope and joy as a representation of her remarkable life.
