'The Voice' Season 6 NBC Shakira Chooses Her Top 3 for Live Rounds, See Who Made Team Shakira Here
"The Voice" Season 6 continued on NBC on Monday night and it was coach Sharika's turn to pick her Top 3 contestants for the 'Live Finals' to represent Team Shakira. The emotions are running high between contestants and the judges themselves, making the 'Playoff Rounds' very exciting this season.
Each of Team Shakira's remaining five contestants sang one final song and then it was up to her to cut two of them and decide which three would move on.Tess Boyer was the first name Shakira choose to move on. Tess was a twice-stolen artist who finally landed on Team Shakira sang "Human" by Christina Perri to win her a spot in Shakira's Top 3. Kristen Merlin was the next name to be called to advance after her strong performance of Carrie Underwood's "Two Black Cadillacs" earlier in the evening. So with two names chosen, Shakira was down to her last selection for her Top 3 to advance. In the end, she went with Dani Moz, the big-voiced singer who performed Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" in a beautiful stripped down piano and vocal arrangement.
Unfortunately, there are always the ones who end up having to go home. 16-year-old Deja Hall, the youngest performer left on The Voice, who sang Jordin Sparks' "Battlefield" and Patrick Thomson, who performed Ray LaMontagne's "Trouble" were the two who did not make the cut for Team Shakira moving on.
Team Adam also had to choose his Top 3 contestants in the second hour of the show and he went with Christina Grimmie, Delvin Choice and for the final pick chose a surprise to many, Kat Perkins.
Blake Shelton was the first coach up to pick his Top 3 last Tuesday evening and he went with Jake Worthington, Sisaundra Lewis and Audra McLaughlin to represent Team Blake in the 'Live Rounds'. Usher is the only coach yet to pick his team and he will choose his Top 3 on tonight's episode of "The Voice".
Adam Levine (Team Adam) is coming off of winning last season (Season 5) and has a very strong team this year so far. Blake Shelton (Team Blake) won three seasons in a row (Seasons 2-4) and is looking to win back the crown. Newcomers Usher (Team Usher) and Shakira (Team Shakira) are on their second season of the show after both being on Season 4. They are both looking for their first win as a part of the hit singing competition.
You can watch "The Voice" on NBC on Monday/Tuesday nights at 8/7c.
