Bethel Music Receives Unprecedented 10 Dove Award Nominations
The Bethel Music community of worship artists and songwriters emerging from Bethel Church in Redding, CA have collectively garnered an unprecedented 10 Dove Award nominations across nine categories this week, including "Song," "Worship Song," "Worship Album," "Inspirational Album," "Inspirational Recorded Song," "Instrumental Album," "Children's Music Album" and "Long Form Video of the Year." The nominees for the 47th Annual GMA Dove Awards were announced this week from Lipscomb University, which is where the awards show will take place Oct. 11 and aired Oct. 16 on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). Garnering two nods for "Song" and "Worship Song of the Year" is "No Longer Slaves," a hit single sung by husband/wife team Jonathan David and Melissa Helserand featured on Bethel Music's 2015 Billboard Top 10 overall album, We Will Not Be Shaken. The title track to Bethel Music's most recent double-disc, multi-artist live recording, Have It All, which topped multiple retail charts internationally and hit No. 6 on Billboard's Top Albums chart when it released last spring, received nods for both "Worship Album" and "Recorded Music Packaging of the Year." "Have It All," written by and featuring Brian Johnson, is also a current Top 5 single on worship radio (CMW). Bethel Music's Amanda Cook receives a pair of nominations stemming from her No. 1 Christian and Top 20 Billboard overall album, Brave New World. The recording garnered a nod for "Inspirational Album" while the project's single, "Pieces," is an "Inspirational Recording Song of the Year" nominee. Receiving a trio of nominations is Bethel Music's first kids' CD/DVD, Come Alive, which released last December on the new Bethel Music Kids (#BethelMusicKids) imprint. The recording gathered nominations for "Children's Music Album," "Long Form Video" and "Recorded Music Packaging of the Year." The tenth nomination is for Bethel Music's second, all instrumental, full-length album, Without Words: Synesthesia, for "Instrumental Album of the Year." |
