Reba McEntire Scores Her First #1 Christian Song with "Back to God"
Reba McEntire may have countless #1 country hits but this week she scores her first ever Christian #1. "Back to God," the lead single from her first faith-based set, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope, released Feb. 3, rockets 17-1 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart.
"Back to God" also becomes McEntire's first leading title on Christian Digital Song Sales (3-1; 14,000 sold, up 236 percent, according to Nielsen Music) and debuts at No. 2 on Christian Streaming Songs (2.2 million U.S. streams, up 483 percent), following the Jan. 24 premiere of its official video.
Reba let her heart and friends help guide the song selection, which includes the first tune she ever sang in public, "Jesus Loves Me," a former Reba co-star's suggestion of "Oh Happy Day" and an introduction from a close associate to "From The Inside Out." Reba co-produced the album with Jay DeMarcus* of Rascal Flatts in his home studio and band leader/musical director Doug Sisemore.
"Music conjures up great memories and goes hand and hand with us McEntires," said Reba. "Mama, Susie and Alice even came into the studio with me to record 'I'll Fly Away,' all of us gathered around an old hymnal straight from the Chockie church."
Reba will feature the new music and signature hits spanning four decades with her first-ever headline show at Nashville's iconic Ryman Auditorium on February 15, 2017. Tickets go on sale at 6:00P CT tonight (12/15) throughhttp://ryman.com/events/Reba.
