Lady Gaga Shows Resilience Through Chronic Pain In New Netflix Documentary
Lady Gaga has spent most of the last decade focused on her career and solidifying her place as a woman in music to be reckoned with. What she has masked is a struggle with chronic pain and fibromyalgia that has also been a consistent part of her daily life. "Gaga: Five Foot Two" is a backstage documentary that arrives on Netflix on Friday, Sept. 22 and it will give viewers a very different look at the performers' life.
The film itself follows the creation, release and promotion of her most recent album, Joanne, which is marred by personal stress, physical pain and an industry that seems to be a bit more critical of Gaga's recent work. The pressure is on in ways that she hasn't experienced before and part of the result of that is her body collapsing on her and the problems continue. Just this week the singer announced that part of her current tour has been postponed.
"I was taken to the hospital, it is not simply hip pain or wear and tear from the road, I am in severe pain. But am in good hands w/ the very best doctors. Please don't forget my love for you. ? Remember years ago when I tattooed Rio on my neck, the tattoo was written by children in the favelas. ? You hold a special place in my heart I love you.
Brazil, I'm devastated that I'm not well enough to come to Rock In Rio. I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now. I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon. I'm so sorry, and I love you so much." explained Gaga.
The starlet's battle for her health continues and "Gaga: Five Foot Two" is said to be extremely well done. It's also a courageous move on her part to show the world her vulnerability and the strength it takes to get out there and perform through the pain. Will you watch Gaga's new documentary?
