Perry LaHaie Shares Big Picture About Short-Term Missions

Singer/songwriter and morning drive-time radio host Perry LaHaie has a long-held passion for bringing the gospel to the Muslim world through his work with Frontiers, an international community of people dedicated to inviting Muslims all over the world to follow Jesus. Now he is encouraging other believers to be 'ruined for the ordinary' by joining seasoned Frontiers missionaries on short-term mission trips during the summer of 2018.
"Our 2018 Frontiers summer trips give you the great adventure of sharing Jesus with Muslims who really want to hear the gospel," says LaHaie. "You'll work with seasoned Frontiers missionaries, helping them accomplish their long-term goal, which is to see the gospel planted in their region and spread like a wildfire. Trust me, this is an experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life!"
Far from a one-size-fits-all organization, Frontiers' short-term mission trips range from one to five weeks, and are available in such diverse regions as central Asia, India, Jordan, the Arab Gulf and even Italy.
"It's not all super serious the whole time," LaHaie says. "There is a lot of fun built into these trips. The Muslims in these regions want to meet you. They want to do fun stuff with you. They want to hear about your faith. And above all, these trips are safe."
LaHaie recently had the opportunity to share his heart about Frontiers' short-term mission trips with Lyndsey Koh of Mission Network News. LaHaie encourages anyone who might be interested to check out the 6-minute interview on his website at perrylahaie.com/summer-adventures.
"On your Frontiers short-term mission trip, you might teach English to indigenous Muslims, serve refugees, help run a social media campaign, or hang out around a campfire with a nomadic tribe, building friendships that last a lifetime," LaHaie continues. "These trips take you out of your comfort zone. You have to take a risk, a leap of faith, but you won't do it alone. Each trip features a time of orientation to help you prepare. You don't have to be a Bible black belt, and you don't have to be an Islamic scholar. You just need to be an ordinary person who wants to love Muslims."
