Natasha Owens Wins Inspirational Album of the Year at WE LOVE Christian Music Awards
Powerhouse vocalist Natasha Owens took home the Inspo Award (Inspirational Album of the Year) for her latest album, "We Will Rise," at last week's WE LOVE Christian Music Awards. Owens faced stiff competition from some of the Christian music industry's top artists: Jaci Velasquez, Laura Story, Nichole Nordeman and Selah. The 6th Annual WE LOVE Christian Music Awards livestream broadcast included a number of never-before-seen performances, collaborations and covers, including a medley of nominated songs from Owens and Selah's Todd Smith.
"I am so excited and humbled for "We Will Rise" to win Inspirational Album of the Year," said Owens. "I want to honor God first of all for his goodness. I want to acknowledge all of the hard work from the writers, producers and management team. I want to thank my fans who love and support me and my music. I also want to thank New Release Today and Visible Music College for hosting such a memorable evening."
Owens has had extensive media coverage for her new album with television appearances nationwide and an exclusive interview for Fox News Channel's FOX411. She also appeared on HLN's "Weekend Express" in the aftermath of hurricane season, announcing that she would donate all proceeds from the retail sales of "We Will Rise" through the end of 2017. To date, Natasha Owens Ministries has donated over $50,000 to hurricane relief efforts.
The album's title track quickly emerged as the soundtrack for those affected, and served as a reminder that there are brighter days ahead. Moved by the song, producers at HLN decided to use the song and portions of the official music video for a montage of the network's ongoing hurricane coverage.
"'We Will Rise' is an anthem project - a declaration of restoration and recovery," said Owens. "My prayer is that God continues to use it to help make a difference in a hurting world. To give hope to the hopeless and healing to the broken. To remind the listener that God loves them and will never leave them."
Natasha has toured with some of Christian music's bestselling artists, such as Michael W. Smith, Jason Crabb and Matthew West. Most recently, Owens crossed the country with 7eventh Time Down, Audio Adrenaline, Greg Sikes and Austin French on the 2017 "God Is On The Move" Tour. Natasha is back on the road in 2018 with dates to be announced at www.natashaowensmusic.com.
