Warner Bros Releasing a Film About Hillsong United in 2015

Alcorn Entertainment together with Warner Brothers will be releasing HILLSONG - LET HOPE RISE, a documentary film about the rise of Hillsong United in 2015. The film will trace the rise of this phenomenal band from a youth group into an international known worship team that has revolutionized the way we worship today.
The youth ministry of Hillsong Church started as two distinct groups: Fuel for grade 7 through 9 grade and Wildlife for grades 10 through 12. After a revival meeting in 1998, the two groups began meeting together in what is known as their "United" nights. This is why the term Hillsong United originated. Very soon across all the campuses and extension services of Hillsong Church began adopting such a format for their youth ministry.
As the youth ministry of the church continued to grow, worship pastor Darlene Zschech commissioned Marty Sampson and Reuben Morgan to start their own recordings as Hillsong United. In 1998, their first EP "One" was released. This was followed a year later with their first full length album "Everyday." As a result, Hillsong United has released hit after hit of worship songs including "Everyday," "Hosanna," "From the Inside Out," "Mighty to Save" and "Oceans." They have sold over 16 million records worldide; not a bad fleet for a youth band.
As for the movie, the filmmakers will follow the band as it completes its current tour and prepares to record its next album. The film will marry live concert footage with a narrative structure.
Led by Joel Houston, the son of Hillsong's senior pastors Brian and Bobbie Houston, Houston says, It's a little weird and a lot humbling to have a movie made about us. But we didn't say 'yes' to this to draw attention to ourselves. It's our hope that by sharing an up-close and unvarnished look inside our music and lives, we can shatter pre-conceived notions of what it means to follow Jesus in today's modern world."
