Michael W. Smith New Christmas Album 2014 Featuring Lady Antebellum & Little Big Town
Veteran Christian artist Michael W. Smith has been in the studio this Summer but trying to get in the Christmas spirit. He has been working on a new Christmas album and has been sharing his experiences with his fans on social media. You can see a picture that he posted above, he even put a little Christmas tree in the studio to help with the vibe. He wrote, "Making Christmas music in June......love my tree!"
Not too much is known about the new Christmas album except that he has shared some exciting special guests that will be joining him. He revealed that he has been working with two huge country acts writing, "In the studio with Lady Antebellum working on new Christmas album," read one of his post, another said, "Making beautiful Christmas music with Little Big Town."
This will not be Smith's first holiday album, he released his first in 1989 entitled Christmas. Then again in 1998 with the release called Christmastime. For his album It's a Wonderful that released in 2007, Smith traveled to Europe and recordeded at London's famous Abbey Road Studios with a 65-piece orchestra and 4 choirs.
Smith did his Christmas tour in several cities across the U.S. in 2013 bringing along special guest Angie Miller, who was a Top 3 finalist on FOX hit singing show "American Idol."
Smith's latest album Sovereign was released on May 13th, 2014, you can pick it up now on iTunes. His biggest success in mainstream music was in 1991 when "Place in this World" hit No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Smith is a three-time Grammy Award winner, and has earned 40 Dove Awards. Over the course of his career, he has sold more than 13 million albums and recorded 29 No. 1 Hit songs, fourteen gold albums, and five platinum albums.
