Lea Michele Pregnancy Hoax, 'Glee' Star Rumors and Second Cast Member Targeted
Yesterday morning, big news hit the twitter and went viral that "Glee" star Lea Michele was pregnant! It would be a rumor, but it actually came directly Michele's twitter herself, so it had to be true right? Her twitter account at 11:20am (July 4) wrote, "Before this gets out to the media," read a post that went live at 11:20 AM, "I would like to announce to my fans that I am pregnant #BabyBoy."
But apparently, the "Cannonball" singer had her account hacked and the actress's reps have confirmed that it was a hoax tweet from a hacker.
Michele took the hacked tweet in good spirits and later herself twittered out, "I was HACKED! Guess @chriscolfer and I should have known better then to make our passwords the names of our cats:) "
Ironically, this is the second time that a a "Glee" star has been hacked in the last few days. Chris Colfer also sent out a tweet saying that he had been 'let go' from the show due to 'personal issues'. This tweet was also the apparent work of a hacker. The Glee producers reached out to confirm Colfer's status on the show. "We've been alerted that Chris Colfer's Twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season."
Are hackers targeting "Glee" cast members on twitter or were these two hacks just a coincidence close together?
"Glee" Season 5 wrapped up on FOX in May and they celebrated their 100th episode this season. The show has been navigating their way through after the tragic loss of cast member Cory Monteith who died from a drug overdose last July.
