Hillsong Worship Celebrates GMA Dove Award Win & a New #1 Album

Grammy Award winning Hillsong Worship received top honors at this year's 50th annual GMA Dove Awards for their RIAA-Certified Gold single "Who You Say I Am." The breakout track performed during the main telecast was awarded Worship Song of the Year further solidifying the group's reputation for delivering praise and worship anthems to help resource and mobilize the church.
"We live in a day where in this world there is a crisis of identity," opened Ben Fielding in his acceptance speech for Worship Song of the Year. Adding, "There are so many voices that would seek to define us and divide us, but I think it's in a day like this that we need a church to stand united and unified, a church of people that know not just who they are but whose they are. Not just listening to the loudest voice, but the voice- the one voice that carries all the power, all the authority. Such that what unites us is greater than what divides us, because we are united by the name of Jesus and we are all children of God."
The recent accolade builds on the release of Worship's latest album, "Awake." The monumental project generated over 6 million street week streams and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Christian/Gospel Albums chart. Available now, the new album builds on the group's 30 plus year history and legacy of serving the global Church and equipping believers everywhere with songs of Holy Spirit power that exalt and glorify the Name of Jesus.
Featuring the vocals of Brooke Ligertwood, Joel Houston, Taya and Aodhan King, "Awake" is comprised of 12 newly penned tracks. It includes three bonus live/digital versions of "See the Light," "No One But You," and the group's first single "King of Kings," which continues to climb the charts with 10 million plus global streams and more than 3 million video views on YouTube.
"Awake" is the timely follow up to Worship's last two critically acclaimed albums, "Let There Be Light" and "There Is More," which have together accumulated 640 million plus global streams, three Dove Awards, two RIAA Gold singles, one RIAA Platinum single, two #1 Christian radio hits, and one Grammy Award. All garnered within the span of three years; the accolades reflect an unprecedented level of success for any worship artist in the Christian genre.
At the forefront touring with some of the biggest names in Christian Music, Hillsong Worship will join Casting Crowns and Elevation Worship for a special 2019 USA arena circuit this fall. Kicking off Nov. 1 in Memphis, Tenn., tickets for the tour are available for purchase at www.PremierProductions.com and https://hillsong.com/worship.
