Bethel Music's Cory Asbury debuts his second single this year with "Christ Be Magnified." Asbury co-wrote the song with Ethan Hulse and Cody Carnes. Carnes has released his own version of the song last year.
Joining his earlier single "The Father's House," "Christ Be Magnified" will be from Asbury's Bethel Music sophomore set, due later this year. Although he penned several songs for the new project during his sabbatical, Asbury's time at home provided a much-needed reset. "It's been a year of realizing I don't have to prove anything," he says. "It's been a year of complete reliance on God. I had to learn to be OK with not having a stage or being on a pedestal or people thinking I'm awesome; but being cool with being completely dependent on the Father for everything."
Reemerging earlier this year with a brand-new recording of "Reckless Love" featuring GRAMMY®-winning pop superstar Tori Kelly, Asbury also recently released the devotional book "Reckless Love: A 40-Day Journey Into the Overwhelming, Never-Ending Love of God" (Charisma House).
Asbury joined Bethel Music three years ago and was featured on the collective's Have it All album. His previous solo releases include worship anthems such as "Where I Belong," "So Good to Me," "Always Faithful" and "Jesus, Let Me See Your Eyes."
In January of 2018, Asbury released Reckless Love which topped the Billboard Top Christian Albums Chart. The title track also hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs Chart and the Mediabase Christian Audience Chart, while continuing to make an impact at radio. Asbury serves as the Worship Pastor at the Radiant Church in Michigan where he and his wife Anna have a family of three.
