Crystal Lewis' Kickstarter Campaign is a Success with New Duets Album Coming
Four-time Dove Award-winning, GOLD recording artist Crystal Lewis has been garnering support from fans to help her finance her new duets album via Kickstarter. Last Sunday, Lewis announced that the goal of $30,000 has been reached. This means Lewis is going ahead with the recording very soon.
Upon the success of the Kickstarter project, Lewis is grateful. " Thank you to each of you that pledged! Thank you for supporting, encouraging and investing in me. In this dream. In music made by an independent artist," she grasps. "...that can't seem to help but want to make more! And thank you to the artists that are confirmed to join me on this project."
Though Lewis has yet to announce the tracklisting or release date of her duets album, some of the guests who will appear on the record include her daughter Izzy Ray, Ty Herndon, Terron Brooks, Kamilah Marshall, Eden Espinosa, Ally Brooke, Kate Flannery, Nikki Leonto, Lia Booth, Mike Murray and Charles Jones.
Lewis is no stranger to singing with others. Over the course of her lengthy career, she has performed with Yolanda Adams, Bryan Duncan, Ty Herndon, Michael English, Bono, Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly, Donny McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, Ron Kenoly, Marcos Witt, Lilly Goodman, Anthony Evans, Donna Summer, and others. At the 1999 Grammy Awards, she performed "Lean on Me" - a track nominated for three Grammys including Song of the Year - with Kirk Franklin, Bono and Mary J. Blige.
Lewis has released more than 27 albums (including seven albums in Spanish, two live albums, two Christmas albums and a children's album). However, this is her first album of entire duets. Lewis writes, "This project will feature equally as fantastic talent!! I can't wait to reveal my duet partners!!"
