Yancy Wins Her First Dove Award in Her 24-Year Career

Singer and songwriter Yancy wins her first GMA Dove Award in her 24-year career. At the 52nd Annual GMA Dove Awards, Yancey won the Dove Award for "Children's Album of the Year" for Ready Set Go. The 52nd Annual GMA Dove Awards were handed out Tuesday night, October 19th, 2021, in Nashville, Tennessee. The show, under the banner Stronger Together, aired tonight exclusively on TBN and was simulcast on SiriusXM The Message.
Quoting scripture, Yancy exclaims, "`Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.' This was my first nomination and first win. It's gonna take me awhile to gather my thoughts to say all the things I want and need to say. I honestly am in shock and still am processing. Long story short: a childhood dream came true. I've been making music for 24 years professionally. This project was a multi-year journey and God has blown me away with what He did with my "YES".
Thank you so much to every person that voted for me. Your belief in me and the songs I wrote and recorded mean more than you'll ever know. There's so much more to come...but for now let me leave you with a big THANK YOU! Being the soundtrack to your days is one of my greatest honors. Keep making Jesus loud my friends!"
The inspiration for Yancy's song "Ready Set Go" came after a life-altering trip to the Ark Encounter in Kentucky. Seeing the massive size of the ark Noah built, established a perspective that she couldn't understand before. The big takeaway from the experience was OBEDIENCE. Noah obeyed! He heard God speak and he took action. Even when it didn't make sense. Even when everyone else questioned him and probably laughed at him, he moved forward in faith and obedience.
