Branan Murphy Reflects On His First #1 Hit
Christian music singer and songwriter Branan Murphy has scored his first #1 song this week. Murphy's "This World is Not My Home" lodges in at the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot AC/CHR Chart, a song he co-wrote the song with Darren Mulligan and Kyle Williams of We Are Messengers.
Murphy is elating and he is trying to treasure the moment. "You know what I think? I think life moves too fast. I think the world moves too fast. I think deep down we all know it's true. And I think because of that, it makes it really hard for us to appreciate, celebrate, stay in the moment, rest, and give God praise for the things that are worthy of those kinds of responses. It's too good for our souls to miss that, but the world is so sneaky at how it entices us to live otherwise...I guess it's just yet another reason to say This World Is Not My Home...song just keeps hitting in all kinda ways So if you'll excuse me, I'm not going to let this opportunity pass me by."
Murphy reveals that the making of the song was a labor of love. He continues, "If you knew how much time, work, prayer, doubt, overcoming that doubt, the external battles, the internal battles, how all of that went into this (and how all of that is a constant part of this calling)...and how many times I heard "no" to get to this "yes," the Ls it took to get to this W, this absolute GIFT from a GOOD God...then you would know why I'm celebrating like I am. And now I have a tangible reminder that God really can do anything if you just trust him. It's gonna go on my wall, not as much as a trophy as it is a wink from the Lord that he is faithful and good."
Murphy expresses his thanks to all who have contributed to his success. "Thank you, to every one of you who has supported me, the music, the mission, my vision for art. To all the fans, along with my wife - the love of my life @ashfelice8 and my babies, my family and friends, producers, writers, other artists, musicians, radio stations all over the world, and to @paravelrecords @dreamlabelgroup and the one guy who never gives up on me @samfisherjr THANK YOU.
Simply put, you believe in me. And you believe that God uses music to change the world, to connect us all, and for his glory and his love and the salvation of his Son to be known everywhere. You believe he wants to use me. For people who do what I do, that means more than you know."
