Andy Baker Shares the Story Behind "I Just Need You (Live)"

Andy Baker, the Chief Enthusiast of Homegrown Worship, and Loulita Gill have released a brand new single "I Just Need You (Live)." The song was recorded live at Warehouse Church in Newport, South Wales in 2019. Based on James 1:17 which states "every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows," the song is a call to rely on this Giver.
Baker has taken the time to talk about the song. "There are many things that I'd like in this life. It can be all-too easy to confuse what we want and what we need. I have wasted many seasons of my life pursuing wants and desires whilst neglecting the relationship with the giver of these gifts. 'I Just Need You' is a realignment of my heart and a sacred statement of what my spirit is constantly relearning.
The infectious chorus refrain is so simple, you will be joining-in for the first time round, whilst the verses walk through a day and year in the journey of faith respectively. In many ways, the song is deceptively deep and you won't tire of it. It does me good every time I sing this on my own or with a group of believers. The bridge is jam packed with scriptural truths. We join the disciples in the boat in Matthew 14 and stand alongside Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace whilst remembering that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13).
'I Just Need You' is the cry of worshippers who've seen Father prove his faithfulness and an anthem for worshipping communities to declare their intent to fully rely on God."
