International Fellowship of Christians and Jews Distributes Additional $3 million in Aid to Ukrainians

Responding to the ongoing emergency in Ukraine, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (The Fellowship) has allocated an additional $3 million, donated by friends of Israel in the United States and Canada, to assist Ukraine's beleaguered Jewish community.
The total amount of emergency assistance The Fellowship has provided as a result of the war in Ukraine now stands at more than $4 million. This is in addition to the regular, everyday assistance that The Fellowship has provided to Jewish organizations in Ukraine and throughout the former Soviet Union for the past 30 years.
This emergency aid is providing:
- Food, medicine, blankets, and heaters
- Security personnel for synagogues and other Jewish institutions
- Temporary housing
- Emotional and psychological support for those experiencing trauma
- Evacuation by buses to border crossings
- Housing, food, security, and other assistance to refugees
- Hotlines for those in the Jewish community in need of assistance
- Basic needs like food and medicine for elderly who are unable to leave
The state of emergency in Ukraine has forced many to evacuate their homes and flee to border crossings. Others have remained in place and have been forced to deal with fierce fighting and shortages of food, medicine, and other essential goods.
"We are continuing to pray for peace," said Yael Eckstein, Fellowship president and CEO. "But as we pray, we are also acting to provide for those in need and save as many lives as possible. I am so grateful to all of our staff, partners, volunteers, and wonderful supporters who have come together to be part of this sacred work."
