Hillsong's Brian Houston Denies Bobbie Owning a Cartier Watch and is Back in Court

Hillsong church's founder and former global senior pastor Brian Houston denies that his wife has ever "bought, owned, or worn a Cartier watch in the past 25 years." Earlier this month, Australian Andrew Wilkie accused Houston and other church leaders of money laundering, tax evasion and shopping sprees that would "embarrass a Kardashian."
According to Wilkie, an AU$6,500 Cartier watch was purchased for Bobbie using the church's finances. Other expenses include $2,500 in Louis Vuitton luggage, a $2,500 watch for current Global Senior Pastor Phil Dooley, two watches worth $15,000 for Joel and Julia A'Bell, shopping sprees for designer clothes at Saks Fifth Avenue and $16,000 for custom skateboards.
Houston denied such allegations as he refutes, "Bobbie has neither bought, owned, or worn a Cartier watch in the past 25 years. It is just another lie told under parliamentary privilege. She never has AND NEVER WOULD buy a watch for herself with church finances. Yet another falsehood. "
Houston is also back in court today. Records from the Superior Court of California in Orange County show that Houston was arrested on Feb. 26, 2022, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more, and failing to display two license plates on the vehicle he was driving. Houston has already been arraigned for the charges six times and is expected to appear in court again today.
"In February 2022, and in the lead up to my departure from the role of Senior Pastor of Hillsong Church, I was unfortunately charged with Driving Under the Influence of alcohol in the USA. I made the foolish decision to drive just 2 or 3 hundred meters (yards) to park the car and I am grateful to God that no damage or injury occurred," Houston said.
"At the time it seemed like all hell had broken loose within Hillsong Church and I was under immense pressure and emotional strain. Clearly that is not an excuse, and I take full responsibility for my actions," he continued
