Derek Webb, Former Caedmon's Call Guitarist and Vocalist, Attends the Dove Awards in a Dress

Derek Webb, former Caedmon's Call guitarist and vocalist, attended the 2023 Dove Music Awards in a dress. He even brought a lesbian singer (Grace Baldridge, who performs as Semler) and another drag queen (Matthew Blake, a former worship leader who wears makeup and women's clothing and performs under the name Flamy Grant) as his guests.
While Webb is no stranger to the Dove Awards, with 10 nominations and three wins, he said this year would be the first time he attended in person.
On social media, Webb shared an image of himself wearing a woman's dress, pearls and black stockings with the caption, "despite having won a few over the past 20+ years, tonight will be my first ever trip to the dove awards, in the company of some very good friends (@FlamyGrant and @gracebaldridge, among others). i hardly ever dress up, but this feels like a very special occasion."
Webb's friend Drag Queen Flamy Grant recently celebrated a #1 album when his debut record Bible Belt Baby hit the number #1 spot on the iTunes Christian albums chart ten months after its release. Meanwhile, Grace Baldridge (Semler), the Queer "Christian' artist that toured with Relient K and has been clamoring to have her music nominated for a Dove award.
At the Dove Awards, Webb's former wife, Sandra McCracken won a Dove Award® in the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year category for her album "Light in the Canyon."
