“Mountain Aid" to Feature Steven Curtis Chapman, Brandon Heath, Point of Grace and More
Moved by the magnitude of need in the mountains of Western North Carolina and East Tennessee following the unprecedented destruction left by Hurricane Helene, bluegrass hitmakers and native Appalachians Chosen Road are bringing together a star-studded lineup for "Mountain Aid: Music For Healing, Strength For Tomorrow." Presented by Food City, the concert-featuring some of Christian music's top names-is set for Thursday, November 14 at Johnson City, Tennessee's Freedom Hall Civic Center. All proceeds will benefit Samaritan's Purse.
Headlined by GRAMMY-winning, Platinum-selling singer/songwriter and Grand Ole Opry inductee Steven Curtis Chapman, "Mountain Aid" will also showcase performances from GRAMMY-nominated, multi-Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Brandon Heath; Platinum-selling Christian music trailblazers Point of Grace; GRAMMY-winning, genre-spanning fan favorite Jason Crabb; bluegrass leaders Darin & Brooke Aldridge; beloved musician and humorist Sean Dietrich (Sean of the South); acclaimed roots worshippers the Jason Lovins Band; powerhouse vocalist TaRanda Greene; and event organizers Chosen Road.
"Chosen Road is thrilled to help bring 'Mountain Aid' to life," shares group co-founder Jonathan Buckner. "When we heard how many of our friends and neighbors in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee were affected, we knew we had to take action. Our dear friends in the Jason Lovins Band agreed, and they stepped up in a special way to help make this event possible. We're so grateful for their support, as well as for all the amazing artists who are graciously lending their time and talents for a night to remember. These mountains and the people who call them home have shaped our music and we owe so much to them. Our prayer is that 'Mountain Aid' will not only help raise funds and bring hope for those in need but will, most importantly, make an eternal impact in Appalachia."
"Point of Grace is so grateful to be part of 'Mountain Aid,'" adds trio member Shelley Breen. "The images we have seen are beyond heartbreaking, and we will not forget the victims as they try to rebuild their lives. Lending our voices to encourage and raise funds for them is truly an honor. We are praying even now for a huge turnout of support for these precious souls who have lost so much."
"I was born and raised in these mountains and the people of Appalachia helped make me who I am," states Jason Lovins. "'Mountain Aid' has already brought so many together and it's going be special! It's an honor for the Jason Lovins Band to be a part of something that I have a feeling people are going to talk about for years to come."
With a goal of supporting and bringing hope to communities in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee affected by Hurricane Helene, all proceeds from "Mountain Aid" will benefit Samaritan's Purse, a nondenominational Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world since 1970.
Presented by Food City in affiliation with IMC Concerts and the City of Johnson City, Tennessee, "Mountain Aid: Music For Healing, Strength For Tomorrow" will be held Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 pm at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City. Tickets are $20 (children 2 and under admitted free) and can be purchased here.
