CeCe Winans Returns to Perform on American Idol

CeCe Winans, a renowned gospel singer and multiple Grammy Award winner, will return to American Idol for a special "Songs of Faith" episode on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. This three-hour broadcast will feature performances by Winans, along with Idol alumni such as Jelly Roll, Roman Collins, Brandon Lake, and The Brown Four. Judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan will also take the stage for special performances.
Additionally, the remaining 20 contestants will perform faith-inspired songs as part of the competition. Winans announced her participation through her social media channels, expressing excitement about returning to the Idol stage.
The "Songs of Faith" episode aims to provide a spiritually uplifting experience for viewers and continues the momentum of Season 23, which airs Sundays and Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
Additionally, Winans has been appointed as the Artist-In-Residence at Belmont University, underscoring her influence and commitment to nurturing future talent in gospel music.
