1 Girl Nation Releases Cover Video of Colbie Caillat's "Try"

Contemporary Christian band 1 Girl Nation has just released a cover video for the viral Colbie Caillat song, "Try." The song speaks directly to girls who think that their self worth is directly tied to how they look and the amount of make-up they put on. Formed in 2012 around the talents of Lauryn Taylor Bach, Lindsey Ciresi, Carmen Justice, Kayli Robinson, and Kelsey Sowards, all of whom had experienced varying levels of success on their own before coming together under the 1 Girl Nation moniker, the quintet inked a deal with the Provident imprint Reunion Records the following year, and released their eponymous debut album that August.
Here are part of the lyrics of "Try:"
Get your nails done
Curl your hair
Run the extra mile
Keep it slim so they like you, do they like you?
Get your sexy on
Don't be shy, girl
Take it off
This is what you want, to belong, so they like you
Do you like you?
You don't have to try so hard
You don't have to give it all away
You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up
You don't have to change a single thing
