Joseph Habedank Wins Prestigious BMI Award

Broadcast Music, Inc., (BMI) held their 2025 BMI Christian Awards on June 17, celebrating Christian songwriters and publishers. As part of the award show held at their Nashville Music Row offices, Joseph Habedank and Daywind Music Publishing were honored for Habedank's "forgiven" (feat. Houston's First Worship) from his hit record, autobiography.
"Each year BMI celebrates the 25 most-played Christian songs it represents. What a thrill that 'forgiven' is among them. Joseph works so hard writing, recording, and singing the Gospel. This recognition is well-deserved," states Rick Shelton, Vice President, Daywind Music Publishing.
"This one is extra special, because Jeff Bumgardner and I wrote this song almost a decade ago. I feel like the timing was perfect for me to record it when I did," comments Habedank. "I am so grateful to BMI, Jeff Bumgardner, Rick Shelton, Daywind Records, and especially to radio for playing this song."
Habedank shared the stage with Christian music's top songwriters and publishers during the evening where, notably, Jackie Patillo, President of the Gospel Music Association, was honored with the BMI Spotlight Award, Jeff Pardo was awarded BMI Christian Songwriter of the Year, and Capitol Christian Music Publishing was named BMI Christian Music Publisher of the Year.
Daywind Music Publishing is home to an award-winning roster of songwriters including Lee Black, Jim Brady, Melissa Brady, Clint Brown, Riley Harrison Clark, Jason Cox, Adam Crabb, Natalie Cromwell, Marty Funderburk, Joseph Habedank, Mike Harland, Wayne Haun, Matthew Lawson, Tim Lovelace, Devin McGlamery, Karen Peck Gooch, John Darin Rowsey, Belinda Smith, Jonathan C. Smith, Sue C. Smith, and Barry Weeks.
