Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Release Date, Spoilers and Review: Spoilers for Possible Film Locations Hint New Orleans and Australia
The release date for the 5th installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean has been confirmed for July 7, 2017. Disney was actually looking forward to release the latest movie in the franchise sometime in 2016, but the decision to push back the release date for the fifth movie was made by the producers who did not really see the use of rushing a script that may or may be right for the audience. As such, Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg will be there as film directors while the legendary Jerry Bruckheimer will be on board for the production. The movie series has had quite a successful run as a franchise with the first four films of the installment grossing something close to 3.7 billion dollars total.
2017 will feature a lot of competition for the fifth movie as there is also the reboot of Fantastic four which will be released in the middle of the summer. There is also Despicable Me, the third installment, and this will be released around June 30th. There is no word yet, whether this will be the last movie in the franchise, but the appearance of some of the key note characters is also up in the air, such as Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann. Other spoilers for the movie include the fact that there is working title. The fifth movie will be Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The production teams are keeping mum about the plot. As such, they suggest that this will be both a standalone adventure and will tie in with the mythology of the series.
As recently as January, there were reports that the movie would be shot somewhere in New Orleans and according to the latest reports it seems that this is accurate. However, with a probable budget of about 200 million for such a franchise, the movie will not be limited to one shooting location, so other options could also include Australia for the film shoot.
