Neil Gaiman's New Book To be Published in February: New Collection of Short Stories in the Works!
Book readers, rejoice! Acclaimed writer Neil Gaiman will be releasing a new book next year!
News broke last August 19 on Gaiman's official Tumblr account when the novelist was asked when he'll be releasing a new collection of short stories. In response the author said, "I'm finishing the very last short story of the next collection RIGHT NOW," he continued," Everything else has been written: the stories, the introduction, all that..."
He has also revealed that the new collection will be titled "TRIGGER WARNING: Short Fictions and Disturbances" and will be published in February 2015.
Neil Gaiman began his career in the 1980s' as a journalist conducting interviews and writing book reviews for the British fantasy Society. His journalistic pursuit was brought about by the notion of getting to know the industry, as well as making connections in the hopes of getting published one day. In 1984, his first short story "Featherquest" was published in Imagine Magazine. His influences include H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Alan Moore, and Lewis Carroll.
The award-winning author is well known for his novels American Gods, Anansi Boys, Good Omens, Neverwhere, and Stardust. He is also renowned for his graphic novel series, Sandman. He's last novel, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, was released back in June of 2013, and was well-received by fans and critics alike. He has also previously released collections of short stories such as Smoke and Mirrors, Fragile Things, and A Little Gold Book of Ghastly Stuff.
He has won numerous awards including the Hugo, Bram Stoker, and Nebula awards as well as Newbry and Carnegie medals.
