Windows 9 Latest News and Update: Separating Facts from Rumors!
The Windows 9 rumors are true. Microsoft will show a preview of their newest OS this late September. The Windows 9 release date is probably in 2015. Paul Thurrott, a Microsoft blogger, thinks the exact date Windows 9 will be released is in April 2015.
Will There Be A Start Button?
One of the things that long time users hate about Windows 8 is the absence of the Start button. The good news is, this time, the Start button will be included in the Windows 9 features.
Windows 9 Rumors on Cost
A recent Techradar post reported that WZOR, a Russian group which leaked some of Windows 9 features, believed that, Microsoft will give the upcoming OS for free.
In the same post, Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet claimed that Windows 9 for the desktop will certainly cost $$ for the users, although the sales price has not yet been established by Microsoft.
Say Hello to Cortana
Cortona made her debut as an artificial intelligence (AI) in the Microsoft game 'Halo.' She is also the voice behind the digital assistant in Windows phone 8.1. Cortona will now be included as part of the Windows 9 features.
A Unified Windows 9
Currently, there are three Windows operating systems for different devices. There is Windows 8 for the PC and laptop, Windows Phone and Windows RT for other mobile devices. In a Techradar post, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed the rumor that the company intends to have single OS to replace three different operating systems. He said, "We will streamline the next version of Windows from three operating systems into one single converged operating system for screens of all sizes."
