Nokia Lumia 730 Release Date, Rumors, News, and Updates: Selfie Phone Will be Announced by Microsoft
The Nokia Lumia series of phones was introduced back in 2011 as a Windows operating system phone which aims to compete with cellphone giants iPhone and Android phones.
Now, competition is stiff and Nokia and Microsoft seems to be fighting back with the Nokia Lumia 730. The new phone was teased by Microsoft by releasing photos (one pictured above) hinting at the Lumia 730, and we might finally see it on September 4 at the IFA in Berlin. The new phone has been given the title of "selfie phone" with having the phone's biggest asset as its cameras.
Back in August 7, leaked photos of the 730 (codenamed back then as 'Superman') surfaced online and specs on the phone as well. It's been reported that the new phone will feature a 4.7 inch 720p resolution touchscreen display, as well as 6.5 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. It is also said to run on the Snapdragon 400 chipset with quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU with 1Gb of RAM and 8Gb of internal storage that is expected to be expanded via an SD card slot.
The rumored release date of the phone will be by the end of September. The Nokia Lumia 830 is also expected to be announced at the IFA in Berlin.
With the upcoming announcements, Microsoft and Nokia are most likely crossing their fingers to have better sales for their new line of smartphones especially with the upcoming announcement from Apple for the iPhone 6, which will make its official debut on September 9.
