Shazam Release Date and Updates: Shazam Previously as Captain Marvel, 'The Rock' as Black Adam Revealed
In connection with the decidion of Johnson to take the role of Black Adam leads to the timeline of DC's rumored movie lineup which is making this film very possible to happen by the 5th of August 2016 or either on 23rd of June 2017. The two dates are said to be the same release dates for the rumored slots of Justice League. However, because Batman V. Superman will be arriving sooner than expected, there are no public announcements yet regarding the release date.
In connection to this, following The Rock's tweet, the Variety also added that there are sources that claim that Darren Lemke, Jack the Giant Slayer will be the one to write Shazam and will be pushed quickly into its production just as long as the screenplay is done.
For those who are not yet familiar with Shazam, (formerly known as the Captain Marvel) storyline would think that Black Adam as the Shazam's archenemy. Black Adam character is actually presented as antihero- he is a super powered ruler having his own agenda that resorts to violence just to defend or protect his very own interests. Black Adam actually abused the power of Shazam and he is the one responsible for the countless terrifying acts. However, for the sake of movie expansion, DC movie universe are creating rooms for Black Adam character to search for redemption, this is not to mention future appearances of course.
Undoubtedly, fans are really hoping to see Johnson having the lead role as, but as mentioned here just awhile ago the actor might dig deeper into the role of Black Adam while DC will of course try to inject a hypnotizing drama that captivates us all, centers it to the main character's role.
