We all know that the air date for new season of 'The Vampire Diaries' is October 2, 2014. While the news of show renewal came several months ago, producers weren't sure when they could release it, but, now, as most part of the filming is complete, and it is now in postproduction, rumors about the air date seem logical.

Elena and Damon were perfect in their own way, but now Elena is left with pain and despair after he's gone. While rumors suggest that Damon will be back after some time, Elena will go back to feeding on humans meanwhile.
