Sony Xperia Z3 Release Date, Compact Version, Verizon And T-Mobile, Rumors, News, Specs And Price: The New Xperia Z3 Is Slimmer And Much Lighter Than Its Predecessors And More Water And Dust Resistant
We have the latest for you on the release date, compact version, Verizon, T-Mobile, rumors, news, specs and price of the Sony Xperia Z3. It was at the IFA Berlin consumer electronics show that Sony unveiled the Xperia Z3 alongside its updated smartwatch wearable version.
The Xperia Z3 has a 5.2-inch 1080x1920 screen, with a pixel density of 424 pixels per inch, has a smooth rounded aluminum frame with tempered glass panels. The device is 7.3mm thin, which is slimmer and much lighter than its predecessors weighing only about 152 grams. It's also dust-proof and can be submerged into water to a depth of 1 meter for 30mins; it has more resistance as compared to its predecessor the Z2 with an IP65/68 rating.
The placement of ports and buttons is similar to the Z2 with power, volume and camera shutter buttons along one side with a covered micro-SD card slot and a head phone jack at the top. It has dual front-facing stereo speakers.
The Xperia Z3 has a 2.5 GHZ quad-core snapdragon 801 processor with 3GBof RAM. It also comes with the same Adreno 330 GPU as the Z2. Many would have expected Sony to upgrade to the 805 snapdragon processor but there is still the Z4 for that, but according to the specs of the Z3, on paper it's still among the most powerful smartphones around.
Its rear camera is 20.7 megapixels and has a 25mm wide angle lens. It runs on the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system and is parked with a series of applications that are intended to extend battery life, for it can run for two days without charging, and also makes transferring existing contacts, music and photos from your old Android, iOS or Windows phone handset easier.
The Z3 comes in many variants that were also presented at the IFA Berlin electronics show. This includes a 4.7- inch display version and a 4.8- inch version running on a 1.2GHZ quad-core processor. Also seen is the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. An outstanding feature of the new Z3 is its capability to connect to the recently launched PS4 Remote play. This allows players to use their console via WI-FI without a television set but instead utilize the Xperia Z3 screen.
Rumor has it that the Xperia Z3 will be available from T-Mobile this Fall and a bit later on from Verizon but no confirmations have been made yet. The device is also rumored to launch in the UK this month. According to PC Advisor, Sony had initially listed the Xperia Z3 Compact for Pre-order at £429 with the price now going down to £349.
