NCIS: New Orleans Latest Spin-Off To Join the NCIS Family - Cast, Details, and Updates!
NCIS: New Orleans is the latest spin off of the popular series NCIS. Just like the original NCIS series, NCIS: New Orleans is a military drama that combines police procedural genres. There is still no official plot for the newest NCIS spin off but there is a rumored crossover of characters from other NCIS series. Viewers are going to see familiar faces during its first season.
Aside from that, NCIS: New Orleans will have its own cast. The famous Scott Bakula will play the role of Dwayne Cassius Pride. Pride is the agent-in-charge for the whole unit in New Orleans. Other cast members include: Lucas Black as NCIS Senior Special Agent Christopher LaSalle, C.C.H Pounder as the group's medical examiner Dr. Loretta Wade, Rob Kerkovich as the group's lab assistant Sebastian Voll, and Zoe McLellan as NCIS Special Agent Meredith "Merri" Brody, a transferee from Great Lakes office.
Scott's character is based on the real-life character of D'Wayne Swear who used to head the NCIS unit in New Orleans and is now a technical consultant for the show. When asked, Bakula said D'Wayne is "hugely passionate and absolutely loves his job," adding, "He's a little bit of, I think 'rebel' might be too strong of a word, but he gets the job done. He's not always super-worried about what the correct procedure is or the rules are. He knows everybody in town. He knows all the police in each parish that we go to."
The pilot episode was written by Gary Glasberg. Filmed in New Orleans, NCIS: New Orleans is produced by Gary Glasberg, Mark Hammon, and Jeffrey Lieber. The premiere episode for NCIS: New Orleans titled "Musical Heal Thyself" will air on September 23, 2014. It will revolve around the murder of someone previously mentored by Agent Pride while showing Special Agent Brody still familiarizing herself with New Orleans.
