Dracula Untold: Why "The World Needs A Monster" Shown In New, Extended Teaser Trailer
The Dracula Untold release date is set on October 10, instead of the previously announced October 17 release, according to Universal Pictures. This is to make way for their other film offerings for the Halloween season. Directed by Gary Shore from a screenplay written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the Dracula Untold cast is headlined by Luke Evans who plays Vlad III Tepes, the man who would later be better known as Dracula.
Others in the cast include Sarah Gadon (as Vlad's wife Mirena), Dominic Cooper (as Sultan Mehmed), Samantha Barks (as the witch Baba Yaga), Art Parkinson (as Vlad's son Ingeras), and Charles Dance (as the ancient evil force) along with Charlie Cox, Will Houston, Ferdinand Kingsley, Noah Huntley, Dilan Gwyn, Zach McGowan, Ronan Vibert, Diarmaid Murtagh, Thor Kristjansson, and Joseph Long.
The latest Dracula Untold trailer can now be accessed at the IMDB, on Youtube, Comic Book Movie, Movie Web, Sneak Peak and other entertainment and video hosting sites. The film will be released in IMAX as well as in all formats.
The Dracula Untold full movie follows a new origin story for Dracula. In this re-imagining of the Bram Stoker character, according to the Dracula Untold plot leaked to media, the young Prince Vlad would have to sacrifice everything in order to save his family and his people from the approaching armies of the Ottoman Empire. Led by Sultan Mehmed, the numerically more superior invaders want to take possession and control of his lands and kingdom. Vlad left with no choice and makes a pact with an ancient evil force that lives on top of a mountain. The ancient one gives Vlad a cup of his own blood to drink. Once he did, according to the Dracula Untold spoilers, Vlad turned into a vampire with great supernatural powers, which include the ability to fly, to become invisible, to teleport, and to transform himself into a horde of bats. And with his frightening new powers, he fights off the invaders from the Ottoman Empire.
By becoming Dracula, Vlad saves his people. As said by the boy shown at a scene from the Dracula Untold trailer, "Sometimes the world doesn't need another hero. Sometimes what it needs is a monster."
Watch out for the Dracula Untold release this October!
