We have the latest for you on the premiere, spoilers, reports and rumors of Downton Abbey season 5. The British monarchy is one iconic ruling family full of power and majesty. Downton Abby is one such series that depicts such a governing system. With this fall seeing the end of Downton Abby season 4, season 5 is set to premiere in 2015 in The U.S.A. The new season comes at a time when Britain is undergoing some changes. Britain is welcoming its first labor party government while the Crawley estate is faced with intense social changes.
Many of the cast and crew from previous franchises will be reprising their roles which include; Maggie smith who plays as the Dowager Countess, Hugh Bonneville as Lord Robert Crawley, Michele Dockery playing as Lady Mary, Jim Carter as Mr. Carson and Laura Carmichael who takes the role of Lady Edith.
Season 5 is also expected to feature new faces in the cast with guest stars including "four weddings and a funeral" actress Anna Chancellor who according to reports will play the role of Lady Anstruther the other guest star to be included in the upcoming season will be Russian actor Rade Sherbedgia who according to the script is to play a refugee who escapes the tyranny of the Russian revolution.
Withnail and actor Richard E. Grant will be playing Simon Bricker who is a guest of the Grantham's at Downton Abby. "some of them struggle with it more than others, I think that it's sort of a rift or a source of tension in the marriage that Robert finds it so much more difficult to adjust than Cora does," Elizabeth McGovern (lady Cora) explained to The Telegraph on how some characters will find it hard when it will come to addressing the challenges Downton Abby is currently facing.
Bonneville opened up and said, "In the opening episode we discover it's their 34th wedding anniversary and, well let's put it this way, there's a chance, I think, for someone who has been married that long-there can be certain things taken for granted, and therefore when couples have got stuck in a rut, you need to keep things fresh."
Downton Abby season 5 will air on PBS on January 4th 2015.
