Sam Smith New "Restart" Music Video Released Featuring Behind the Scenes Footage, Watch Here (VIDEO)
Pop/Soul singer, Sam Smith has released a new music video on his song "Restart". The video features behind the scenes footage from his summer tour schedule promoting his debut album In The Lonely Hour.
"'Restart' is one of my favorite tracks on the album and I really felt like I wanted to visualize it," Sam told The Guardian. "I had such an amazing time putting this video together, remembering some incredible moments from this year and also a recent trip with my team to Brighton this summer."
Sam Smith's debut album, In the Lonely Hour, released earlier this Summer on May 26 from Capitol Records.
The 22-year-old English singer released his single "Stay with Me" earlier this year and it became a massive hit to launch his album. He made a second video for the song with R&B icon, Mary J. Blige. He released a statement about the video sharing, "Working with Mary J. Blige is one of the biggest highlights of my career so far. I remember holding her album in my hands in the car when I was a young boy. To meet your idols is a magical thing, but to work with them is truly a dream come true."
Mary J. Blige responded, "I'm so honored to have had the chance to work with Sam Smith. Sam's true soulful voice... is the first of this kind I have heard since Luther Vandross, Freddie Jackson and all the great soulful male voices from the '80s. I'm completely blown away by his talent, soul and the sincerity."
In December 2013, Smith was nominated for the 2014 BRIT Critics' Choice Award and the BBC's Sound of 2014 poll; both of which he went on to win. He released his debut studio album, In the Lonely Hour, on 26 May 2014 via Capitol Records. The lead single, "Lay Me Down", was released prior to "La La La". The second single, "Money on My Mind", was released on 16 February.
