2013 Was a Great Year for Centricity Music
It's hard to believe that Centricity Music was the new kid on the block only eight years ago. Today, the indie label has a roster of incredible talent and 2013 saw each of them reaching major milestones in their careers.
In 2013 ...
Aaron Shust released Morning Rises, his second album for Centricity Music (5th of his career) in July. He co-wrote seven of the twelve songs on the project, including the first single, "God Of Brilliant Lights," which reached #2 on Billboard's Soft AC chart and #10 at AC Indicator. During street week, he was interviewed on FOXNews.com, live "Spirited Debate." The evening of release day, Shust did a live 30-minute concert through Stage It with all proceeds from the event being donated to Family Christian Ministries' James Fund.
Andrew Peterson began 2013 with a major debut - on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry at the historic Ryman Auditorium! Peterson's performance was one of the highlights of the evening and he was invited back for a second performance in May. In June, Andrew kicked off his first European tour and in October, he hosted Hutchmoot 2013 in Nashville, TN and the event sold out in less than three minutes. That same month Peterson also launched a Kickstarter Campaign for his last book in the Wingfeather Saga Series, The Warden and the Wolf King. Being self-published through The Rabbit Room, Peterson was hoping to raise enough to cover the printing of the first run (about $14,000) but in a week he had raised over $118,000! The book will release in spring 2014. Peterson began his 14th annual Behold The Lamb Of God Christmas tour on December 3rd and the holiday concert remains a fan favorite, with sell-outs in most markets.
Jason Gray's single, "Nothing Is Wasted," became his first #1 hit. It stayed atop Billboard's Soft AC chart for nine weeks and peaked at #18 on the AC Indicator chart. Gray's current single, "With Every Act Of Love," had the most successful debut week at radio in Centricity Music history with 39 adds. The song is currently #12 at AC Indicator and #15 on the NCA chart. It is from Jason's upcoming album, Love Will Have The Final Word, releasing March 4, 2014.
Unspoken is gearing up for their first full album release in April 2014, following the success of their two earlier EPs, The World Is Waking and Get To Me. The band's first single "Who You Are" reached the Top Ten at Christian radio, and the second single, "Lift My Life Up," grabbed 30 radio adds right out of the box and reached #5 on Billboard's AC Indicator chart. It is currently #10 on the NCA chart.
In a press release, Centricity Music's General Manager, Caren Seidle, summed up the past year and looked forward to what next year will bring. She said, "I am continually amazed at the incredible talent that makes up Centricity Music's roster. These artists not only make great music but impact the hearts of so many people and we are so thankful that we get to participate in that. The vision for the Centricity Music team has always been to support the vision of artists and songwriters. I definitely believe that 2014 will be another banner year for the label."
Centricity Music's additional 2014 releases include three of the newly signed artists, Carrollton in February, Jonny Diaz in April and Lauren Daigle in May.
