'Game Of Thrones' Season 5 Costly 'NUDE SCENE' - Hired 200 Security Crews To Avoid Leaks?
"Game of Thrones" Season 5 can be considered as one of the most expensive seasons of the franchise after the producers spent $200,000 in one scene, Cinema Blend reports.
All the hustles and the bustles committed to be able to shoot the most controversial scene of season 5 of HBO's hit TV series costs $50,000 per day. It took the production four days to perfect the scene and it costs a whopping $200,000 in total.
The infamous scene involves Lena Headey, who played the role of the evil queen, Cersei Lannister, walking out naked from the church of St. Nicholas in Croatia.
To be able to shoot the most-awaited walk of shame scene, the production had to create shields such as umbrellas in order to cover Headey's nude body. The "Game of Thrones" production also hired additional 200 security crews to make sure that there will be no people that can leak the scene.
Regular local shop owners in the vicinity were also paid off to clear the area while the scene is being shot. Cell phones are also confiscated during the shoot to avoid any leaked images.
Aside from these security woes, the show's staff members have also fought hard for the scene to materialize as the first city where the scene should be shot, does not allowed public nudity. In order to continue shooting, the team had to move from Dubrovnik to the other part of the city where the nude walk was allowed.
The troubles that the production has engaged just to shoot the scene have paid off, as reported by International Business Times. "The added security seemed to have done its job as no pictures of the filming have surfaced at this point."
This means that the Game of Thrones' avid fans would have to wait for quite some time in order to watch the most anticipated scene for the shows fifth installment.
Aside from Cersei's nude scene, there are a lot more reason to watch the new season. Christian Today reported that there will be nine new characters in the "Game of Thrones Season 5." Alexander Siddig is one of the rumored additions to the show.
No one from HBO confirmed any rumor yet so fans need to wait until its premiere to find out. The show's fifth installment is set to be shown in spring of 2015.
