WWE 2K15 News and Updates: the Season Pass Concept is key for the Single Player Campaign
The post release content has become such a large part of every video game release. It has changed the way that we evaluate them and general perspective. In the old days, when a game was released and whatever issues it had, we had to deal with them because there were no other options. Now there are patches to fix almost anything. At the same time, the developers had to put all of the content intended for the game on the disc or cartridge in whichever case from the beginning. Now downloadable content not only extends concerning the playability of the game, however it also increases the earning potential for each title.
The good thing with WWE 2K is that the brand is in tune with both of the concepts. Recently it was announced that the season pass concept would be in force for the upcoming WWE 2015 game. The announcement has already confirmed a playable version of the WWE Diva Paige. For those who are not familiar with how this works, the following is a breakdown of how it is going to happen. Essentially there is a healthy amount of post release content which has been made available to gamers a la carte or all inclusively for a reduced onetime fee. This year, the offer will focus primarily 2K Showcase single player campaign. The mode recreates the legendary rivalries from the WWE's storied history.
Apparently, the game will feature the rivalries between triple H and Shawn Michaels, as well as, CM Punk and John Cena. In fact, most of the rivalries will be made available via the Season Pass. Some may not like the fact than an integral part of the game is only available for an additional purchase, however the receptiveness toward the concept depends on how in-depth each rivalry is and what the rewards or rather the un-lockables are. If done properly, 2K Showcase should keep even the most skilled gamers playing the single player campaign for months on end.
