'The Voice' NBC Season 8 Announces Pharrell Returning With Christina Aguilera to Coaches Seats with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton
NBC's hit show "The Voice" has announced the official coaching line-up for Season 8. New coach this current season (Season 7) Pharrell Williams will be returning for a second straight season, meaning that Usher will not be back (he was a part of Seasons 4 & 6).
First-time coach Gwen Stefani will be replaced by returning original judge Christina Aguilera, who originally sat out this season due to her pregnancy. This turned out to be a great thing as Gwen has been a fantastic addition to the show and really brings a cool 'band' element to the show, especially from a female perspective which is great to have.
Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, who have been there since the show began in Spring 2011 will also be returning. Their chemistry and banter has made the show a staple to watch for fans every season.
"We are excited to welcome Christina back to her red chair and can't wait to see how she mixes things up among Adam, Blake and Pharrell, in what will be an incredibly competitive competition" said Paul Telegdy, NBC's President of Alternative and Late Night Programming to TheWrap. "These four talented artists are at the top of their game as musicians and as coaches. The mentoring is sure to be intense and the stakes will be high."
CeeLo Green will not be returning to the show with the legal problems he is facing stemming from accusations that he slipped a woman the drug ecstasy.
"The Voice" Season 7 has not missed a beat with the rotating judge formula. It opened the 2014 Fall television season as the #1 reality show in primetime and the #2 overall entertainment show of the four main networks.
You can tune into "The Voice" with host Carson Daly on Monday and Tuesday nights at 8/7c on NBC.
