'Harry Potter' Spinoff And More: Warner Bros. CEO and Chairman Kevin Tsujihara Confirmed More Potter Films by 2016-2020!
Good news to all Potterheads out there. Browbeat delivered an exciting news about the "Harry Potter" spinoff by Warner Bros.
The films will take its cue from the narratives of J.K. Rowling 's debut screenplay adapted from her 42-page spinoff collection "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" way back in 2001. David Yates, who directed the final four Harry Potter movies will also direct the spinoff. The film is a trilogy set in the "Harry Potter universe."
The first movie is set for release on Nov. 8, 2016. That's already a great surprise to all the fans of Harry Potter, but there's more good news because Warner Bros. confirmed that they will release two more movies as follow-up or sequels, which are scheduled to be released in 2018 and 2020 respectively. However, it doesn't stop there because there is a great possibility for more follow-up films in the future.
CEO and Chairman of Warner Bros. Kevin Tsujihara is very keen in keeping a good relationship with Rowling because it also means that as long as they are in good standing, more Potter movies may be created in the future.
In terms of value, the "Harry Potter" trilogy is obviously because it is considered as one of the most beloved as well as longest, and profitable movie franchise in history.
Based on the reports of Forbes, the "Harry Potter" films raked in around $17.7 billion! That is the total revenue for the worldwide box office excluding the estimated $2 million revenue for its Blu-ray/DVD release across the globe.
In addition, there are also "Harry Potter" collectibles just like Potter t-shirts, wallpapers and posters, Potter games as well as toys and books! So these are the reasons why aside from the fans, CEO Tsujihara and the rest of the Warner Bros. are very excited about the upcoming films. The primary reason why the studio really have to reach out to J.K. Rowling and request to develop this amazing and excellent franchise. For those who predicted this, well, it's finally coming!
