'Aquaman': Jason Momoa Reigns Seven Seas as 'Aquaman' in 2018
The King of Atlantis makes a splash in the DC Cinematic Universe as Warner Bros has decided to official announce the big screen film, which will premiere in 2018.
"Aquaman" is a superhero film, which is based on a character of the same name from the DC comics. The upcoming film will star Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Momoa is also known for his television roles as Ronon Dex on the military science fiction series Stargate: Atlantis", Khal Drogo in the HBO fantasy television series "Game of Thrones". He also appeared in the sword and sorcery film "Conan the Barbarian". He also had the role as director, writer, producer, and actor in his film "Road to Paloma", which was released last July 11, 2014.
It was also revealed in Business Insider that during an investors' conference, Warner Bros.' Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara made an announcement of the studio's upcoming film schedule. It is also reported that Jason Momoa will also have a cameo role in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", which be premiere in 2016. Businesswire also exposed that in the Warner Bros. press release, there is a minor annotation that confirms Momoa as the King of the Seven Seas. The actor has been rumored to play Aquaman since April, but he never confirmed his envelopment as the superhero. After a lengthy period of silence, the rumor that Momoa was going to play Aquaman was quaked in CNN. "Aquaman", along with "The Flash" will be next in line after the highly-anitcipated films "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", which is set to be directed by Zack Snyder. Other characters said to appear in the film are Mera, Orm, Black Manta, and The Trench. "While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters on May 6, 2016, the upcoming "Aquaman" movie is set to be distributed by Warner Bros and DC Entertainment and is to premiere in theaters and cinemas on July 27, 2018.
